Interplay between topology-induced geometry and properties of nanocarbons

Prof. Jun ONOE, Nagoya University, Japan

Dr. Jun Onoe is a Professor at Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan. He is also concurrently a presidential advisor, the director of Innovation Strategy Office, and the head of the department mentioned above. He is the author of over 120 ISI journal papers (h-index 30), over 10 books, and 5 patents.

In this lecture, he will demostrate geometrical curvature effects on electronic states since the effects has been theoretically predicted in 1950s, using one-dimensional uneven structured metallic C60 polymer. In addition, he will present the shape effects of p-electron conjugation on the electron-phonon coupling strength for nanocarbon allotropes and the anomaly in the resistivity of the 1D C60 polymer at a low temperature.
